The handmade world offers up a wonderful world of felt:  Jewelry, slippers, housewares, scarves, and more.  Felt artists come up with endless ways to use the felt they create. This lovely scarf is an excellent example.  Merino and a selection of other wool fibers were mixed with sari silk, woven, and then felted into a trellis pattern.  Its variety of strands blend into a garden-colored bouquet with soft felt trailing vines.  It's $49.00 at Dragonfly Alley.

This handwoven towel by Karen in the Woods is simply lovely.  I love the stylized sort of herringbone design.  It's a Karen in the Woods original that she describes as "an intricate 8 harness pattern".  Karen suggests using it as a towel, a table mat, or a bread basket cover.  It's 20" x 28" of thick cotton and will last for years no matter how you use it. 

 She makes them in two colors:  Faded denim and rust brown.  These are handmade artistic textiles and each is a unique original.  $15.00

This very cool looking scarf is made from recycled sweaters.  It's man-sized (76 inches long by 6.5 inches wide) and super warm.  It's a one-of-a-kind item and may be gone when you check, but there are others -- for both men and women, along with lots of other things at Jill2Day, this interesting Etsy shop.

flip-flops for you hands

I was so happy to come across the DebzCreations Etsy shop because I love this style of hand warmer, and it's not easy to find.  I don't know why they're called fingerless gloves, though.  They seem more like convertible mittens to me.  Anyway, whatever you want to call them, they're great.  I bought a pair (not Debz) a few years ago, and love the convenience of taking them off while leaving them on.  Fishing for keys, unlocking the door, or whatever you usually have to remove your gloves or mittens for, is just a matter of flipping the hood over your fingers.  They're practical and they're practically loss-proof.
