It's been almost three years since I first told you about Sara MacIntosh, the cobbler behind Sara's Shoes in Chicago. Well blog posts have a way of getting buried, relegating their still-relevant information to electronic purgatory. So I have done a fresh review of Sara's Shoes to kick off a series on handmade shoes I'll be doing at Heartful Village. I chose to start with another look at Sara's because she's added some styles since my 2008 post. And she's started a school for budding cobblers. The school is very timely. Interest in handmade products is growing daily and more and more people are joining this quiet revolution in craft, thought, and attitudes about consumption. Like most artisan fields, the cobbler trade took a hit over the past few decades, but Sara is doing her part to help it rebound. You can follow this link to the new Sara's Shoes review.
