Alfredo Falcon was born into a family in Peru that has produced woven textiles for several generations. He lives in the Huaycan district and has collaborated with Novica for several years. This collaboration has helped him grow his business and he now employs others to help him. Alfredo loves knitting and crocheting and he combines handwork with work done on classic machinery that allows him to stay true to Inca and Colonial motifs.
The Andean alpaca, a smaller cousin to the llama, produces a wool that is known for it's softness and warmth. And Alfredo's alpaca wool scarves are a great value. Cinnamon Mocha, above, is fringed and blends shades of cinnimon and mocha in a color scheme "that evokes spiced coffee." It measures 8.3" wide by 56.6" long ($37.97).
Sumac, right, juxaposes forest green with ochre and cinnamon and has an Andean feeling. It's a blend of 50% acrylic/50% alpaca wool ($39.95) Both are luxuriously soft and lightweight.
