DavidRM is an indie software developer. He originally created The Journal twelve years ago as a quick project to learn the Delphi programming environment. A freeware offering, it was primarily downloaded by people in the Delphi community, but user feedback led to its extension and the rest, as they say, is history. By the time The Journal 4 [current download is Journal 5] hit my radar screen a few months ago, it had evolved into a mature and robust feature rich package with a selection of optional extensions.
I choose to use it as an organizational tool. I have separate notebooks for each blog and for my website, with additional subfolders as needed. I use The Journal to keep track of links to websites and to files that reside on my networked computers and external hard drive. If I get confused about where I've filed something, I use the built-in Google-like search engine to find it. The Journal is a perfect organizational tool for a multi-tasking, multi-project person who's not all that organized. I can't imagine what's it's like for a person who is.
The download is $49.95 and DavidRm gives you a free 45 day trial period to see if it's right for you.
