The Santa Cruz Open Studios Art Tour is a diverse and always top quality tour featuring artist's open studios throughout Santa Cruz County, a wide geographic area in one of the most beautful regions of California. There are 300 participating artists opening their studios across three consecutive weekends in October:

October 4th and 5th features South County: Santa Cruz studios outside city limits, plus Live Oak, Capitola, Soquel, Aptos, Rio del Mar, La Selva Beach, Freedom, Corralitos, and Watsonville.

October 11th and 12th features North County: Santa Cruz studios within city limits, plus Scotts Valley, Felton, Ben Lomond, Brookdale, Boulder Creek, Davenport, and Bonny Doon.

In addition, some artists from both South and North County areas have chosen to participate in a third "encore" weekend October 18th and 19th.
You need to purchase a Tour Guide/Calendar ($20.00), sales of which provide the main source of funding for this event. Tour Guides are also great directories of artists you may want to connect with later. This year, there is a tour bus in operation ($30.00). I like this much. You can conserve gasoline, find the studios, and drink the wine that some artists provide. But bus space is limited, so you should sign up right away.
